Del Su is a symphony of Italian adjectives and nouns colliding to form “of the hill”.
The wine
Elegantly layered and aromatically complex, it’s made from a single-clone (777) of estate-grown handpicked grapes. It's wild fermented in an open vat, pressed after 52 days on skins and aged in selected French oak for 18 months. Del Su is alluring wine of spice, berry, and savoury intensity, with a balanced and delicate finish.
The season
Cool and consistent conditions during winter and spring led to near perfect flowering and healthy vine canopies. Summer was dry and mild with warmer nights causing fruit to ripen rapidly. Bunch weights were lower, quality was sublime. Reds made were intensely concentrated, aromatic and exotically complex.
