Pernella

The name

Homage to my mother Maria Gaetana, Nella for short. “Per” meaning “for” in Italian comes together to form Pernella.

The wine

Richly textured and aromatically complex, Pernella is made from estate-grown handpicked grapes, barrel fermented in selected French oak, and left on stirred lees for six months. A full-bodied wine, of tropical, savoury and citrus freshness, with a balanced acidity and lingering finish.

The season

Cool and consistent conditions during winter and spring led to near perfect flowering and healthy vine canopies. Summer was dry and mild with warmer nights causing fruit to ripen rapidly. Bunch weights were lower, quality was sublime. Whites made from selected yeast were highly aromatic, complex and vibrantly persistent.
